The Key of G Major is a favorite for pop, rock, and folk music. It has just one sharp: F-sharp (F♯). Because it only uses one black key, it is often the first key students learn after C Major.
The G Major scale is almost identical to C Major, but we raise the F to F♯:
G – A – B – C – D – E – F♯ – G
Q: What is the most common chord progression in G?
A: The I-IV-V-I progression is G Major -> C Major -> D Major -> G Major.
